Credit Card Company Attitude Shift Is Good News For Merchant Account Holders
In a shift that should be good news for merchants who accept credit cards, credit card companies are trying to change their image. Recent legislation changes and media attention have resulted in policy changes and new incentives to consumers for several credit card companies. Jason Agivaive, owner and founder of Nova Merchant Funding, feels that this is welcome news for merchants. Nova Merchant Funding is a provider of discounted retail credit card processing services, software for use in credit card processing and quality merchant accounts.
“These new consumer-friendly offers include retirement fund initiatives, cash back bonuses, and waived interest fees on certain purchases, just to name a few,” points out Agivaive.
Credit card companies are changing their marketing strategies too, now trying to position themselves as responsible financial partners for consumers, rather than simply offering a way to buy anything your heart desires, whether your wallet can manage it or not. With a premise that consumers with strong financial and credit situations comes the result (hopefully) of fewer charge-offs for a credit card company to deal with or take losses from.
If consumers are given more incentives or better terms, the likelihood is that they will begin spending a bit more and merchants will see an upswing in business. And that would be welcome news indeed.
