Blackberry Credit Card Processing App
President and co-CEO of Merchant Warehouse , Henry Helgeson, recently announced, “We are thrilled with the success of our recent iPhone credit card processing application. In the last month alone, we have had many thousands of downloads and terrific feedback from users. I am confident that the increased functionality of the BlackBerry application is going to take mobile payments to the next level.”
This announcement from Helgeson came as Merchant Warehouse began offering MerchantWARE Mobile as a payment processing offering on select BlackBerry smartphones, including the newest Storm, the Bold and the Pearl. The MerchantWARE Mobile application is offered free for download from Merchant Warehouse’s website and will also be available in the near future on Blackberry’s App World.
The processing application will certainly be a handy tool in the arsenal of small businesses, particularly ones that are more mobile in nature, like delivery businesses or tradeshow vendors. Credit card information can be keyed in to the BlackBerry device or entered via the use of a secure Bluetooth swipe device. Data will not be stored on the BlackBerry device itself, but instead will be stored on Merchant Warehouse’s secure servers.
The application has several key features including email receipts for both the merchant and customers, PCI DSS/PABP compliance and SSL encrypted connections, and real time processing. Cost savings are significant, as the application itself is free, there are low interchange costs (with the Bluetooth card reader), and no additional cellular access or gateway fees.
Merchants are also sure to appreciate the robust transaction reporting, day end batch processing feature and access to the MerchantWARE Virtual Terminal.
As there continues to be a need for merchants to offer convenient payment options, applications like MerchantWARE Mobile fill a void that has existed in the marketplace and give the business owner an opportunity to make more money and save valuable time with immediate approvals and easy implementation. Merchant Warehouse also intends to expand their mobile offering to the Windows Mobile platform sometime in the future.
