New Secure Payment Method for Small Businesses
Small and home-based business merchants can now take advantage of an impressive, secure payment solution, which is being offered by ProPay. The ProPay MicroSecure Card Reader is being introduced with a moderate $99 price tag, plus a small monthly administration fee. The patent-pending process allows for credit or debit card information to be encrypted at the time of swiping and then it is stored in coded form until it is sent for processing via ProPay’s secure virtual terminal. The terminal can process via any computer with internet access.
Greg Pesci, Executive Vice President of Business Strategy for ProPay says “We believe the MicroSecure Card Reader has the potential to change the face of the transaction industry. Because the cardholder information is encrypted at swipe and then securely transmitted and processed though our virtual terminal, this is the first truly secure, end-to-end card processing solution we are aware of.”
Nearly seven million small businesses run credit and debit card transactions. Already there are over 2,000 mobile service providers, charities, schools, salespeople and home party consultants who are using ProPay’s card reader for prompt and safe payment processing. Mr. Pesci notes that “This goes well beyond helping these merchants avoid the risks and headaches of writing down cardholder information for later processing. We find most don’t fully appreciate the PCI requirements and risks they and their acquirers bear. Rather than expecting these smaller merchants to spend vast sums of money on PCI compliance or to learn how to secure their systems from every possible breach, they can use the ProPay MicroSecure Card Reader to remove cardholder data from their systems altogether. By removing the data, they can remove most, if not all, of the cardholder data security risks.”
